After your eyelid surgery is complete, there are some helpful things to consider about the post-operative phase of the process, also known as eyelid lift recovery.

Typically, the eyelid lift recovery time is brief. However, bruising and swelling are common. This is usually worst on the day immediately after surgery. Such issues quickly disappear within a matter of days.

Cool compresses are a helpful tool for minimizing bruising and swelling around the eyes and face. Small, narrow bandages are placed over the incisions and discarded after a few days. The sutures (if not of the self-absorbing variety) can remain in place for another week or so before being removed during a follow-up.

Patients should be able to partake in normal activities in about seven to ten days after surgery.
